- Integrated Curriculum
Learning in the PIE classroom is literature-based, project-oriented, and thematically organized. Examples of curriculum may include: The Daily 5- The Daily CAFE, Responsive Classroom, and Marilyn Burns Math Solutions. Multiple forms of assessment are used to evaluate student progress.
- "Differentiated" refers to instruction that is adapted to the individual needs of the learners, rather than expecting learners to adapt themselves to the instruction.
- "Child-focused" refers to learning that emphasizes the role of children's needs, choices, and responsibilities.
